Back to Tutorial Index

You now have a new image on your Paint Shop Pro screen and it looks something like this:

editing gradient

6

A new window will pop up for you. It will show whatever gradient was last used in your program.

Click on the gradient. I circled where you should click in red. You will not see a red circle on your window.

Choosing your new gradient

7

When you click on the gradient, another window pops up. This one allows you to choose whatever gradient is in your computer for your project.

Scroll through until you find the one you installed from "AmeriYank's Friday Freebie" list for July 26, 2002. It should be named "ayjuly262002".

Click on it. I have circled it in red. Your computer will not have it circled.

Choosing gradient style

8

Next, we need to choose our gradient style. The new gradient will show in the same style as whatever the previous one was. You may not need to change it, depending on how the last gradient in your program was used.

You want to have the "radial" style chosen. It is the one at the bottom. Again, it is circled in red. The red circle will not show on your computer.

9

After you choose the radial gradient style, you need to choose your horizontal and vertical settings. Set each to 50, as shown in the image on the right.

Click "OK".

Final gradient style and type

10

side view of fill gradient

Your foreground style choice should now look like the image above. Don't worry about the red square, it will be whatever your computer last used. Mine just happened to be red.

bucket flood fill

Now, be sure your flood fill tool is chosen. Then, simply click on your new blank image. The radial gradient will then fill your blank image.

Your new image will now look like this, only without "sample" written on it:
